The complex simplicity of the Roll chair may initially be misleading, just like the concept behind it. Mut sharpens its wit to create perhaps its most ironic design yet. Inspired by gym machines used for leg exercises, this simple and original seat elegantly contradicts the main purpose of those complex apparatuses: Roll offers rest to anyone in need of a peaceful pause.
The Valencia-based creatives reduce the conventional form of a chair to just two pure elements: steel tubes and two cylindrical cushions for the backrest and seat. Their passion for the beauty of simple things and curved geometries are distinctive hallmarks of Mut, clearly present in this new design for Sancal.
