Following its debut at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Experimentarium arrives in Valencia. The same concept and scenographic identity are reinterpreted through a new layout that incorporates Sancal’s latest collections. The space provides an antidote to the social flatting imposed by the algorithm.
The exhibition once again brings together Mimoso, the modular sofa by Note (design studio); Twins, the twin lounge chairs by Júlia Esqué; and Palma, the understated lounge chair by Marc Morro, all unveiled for the first time in Milan. Joining them is Gradas, the architectural seating system designed by UNS (the architecture studio founded by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos), which made its debut during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.
This new staging continues the spirit of Experimentation, proposing a different journey through fresh compositions and new relationships between the pieces.
But Experimentarium is more than a product exhibition. It is also a reflection on the creative moment we are living through. At a time when algorithms reinforce what is already known to work and trends encourage uniformity, we champion experimentation as the driving force behind creativity, innovation and even failure. Because no scientific, industrial, cultural or creative breakthrough has ever emerged from comfort, but rather from curiosity, risk and the willingness to test ideas whose outcome remains uncertain.
Conceived by Estudio Sancal under the creative direction of Esther and Elena Castaño-López, Experimentarium takes the form of a laboratory inspired by the principles of the scientific method. A journey that invites visitors to pause, observe, touch and question established habits, rediscovering the pleasure of exploring, thinking and creating.
From 28 September to 1 October, Experimentarium opens its doors once again at Feria Hábitat València.
