For an artistic 2020 with Sancal
Architecture and graphic design inspired by avant-garde theatre. Flat elements and textures. Basic shapes and pure colours. These are the premises on which the 2020 calendar by Carmen Casado, alias holasoyka, is based on.
An abstraction exercise by the artist whose work is usually developed in digital format, although there seems to be lines done with square, triangle and compass in her illustrations.
She’s an Interior and graphic designer and her style is characterized by the use of a simple yet vibrant colour range, where architecture is very present. Sometimes, it reminds us the Memphis style, and sometimes you can find cubist-like airs.
For 2020 holasoyka opens a door onto a world of basic shapes in which our furniture and accessories lose their three-dimensional volumes, by reducing objects to their primary forms.
Black theatrical backdrops contrast with holasoyka’s geometric characters and two-dimensional representations of Sancal’s products: Alpino sofa by Rafa García, Estante acoustic product by Juan Ibáñez, the four products designed by Luca Nichetto for Sancal, Pion table by Ionna Vautrin or Tonella pouf by Note Design Studio will show you their basic shapes monthly.
A cosy refuge at home
Getting back to nature and enjoying its stunning landscapes is a seductive plan for this January. Or also cocooning at home on the comfortable and fluffy sofa Alpino by Rafa García.
Its balanced proportions and soft volumes, inspired by the Alpine mountain range, have been deconstructed by holasoyka, although its characteristic arm with a flap still continues to stand out.
