El arte de celebrar lo efímero.
With October, the landscape transforms and autumn reveals all its intensity. In his illustration, Federico Sáez Anchorena depicts the season’s last figs sharing the scene with an owl. In the background, a painting references the classical tradition. An image that turns maturity into a reason to celebrate, where the passing of time and the changing season are embraced in the intimacy of a comforting cup of tea.
For this month, the artist has chosen Roll, the chair designed by Mut, and Pion, the dining table by Ionna Vautrin, two Sancal classics that, like autumn fruits, have reached maturity in our catalogue. Together, the two designs create a setting for gathering, conversation and lingering over a long meal.
Roll starts with a simple formal gesture to create a piece with a strong personality. The seat and backrest are formed by two upholstered cylinders that embrace the metal structure. Its distinctive appearance is matched by surprising comfort. The design can be customised by combining lacquer colours with a wide range of upholstery options, allowing for different expressions and giving each chair a character of its own.
Pion takes inspiration from the shapes of chess pieces, bringing the design of this table into more sculptural territory. The finish and stain of the tabletop can be combined with different lacquer colours for the bases, altering its appearance and allowing it to adapt to different settings.
When nature reaches maturity and begins to transform, Roll and Pion invite us to pause, come together and acknowledge that everything changes and evolves, just like the seasons.
Metamorphosis and transience.
“The autumn canvas is painted in intense tones, marking a phase of metamorphosis and the height of maturity. October is a month of introspection and wisdom, when fruit, like the fig, embraces its transience through flavour. The scene becomes a modern symposium: versatility joins forces with classical tradition to create a space for conversation and reflection, inviting us to savour the final pleasures before the cold arrives.“ Federico Sáez Anchorena.
