A vibrant aesthetic that bridges past and present by exploring the artistic and chromatic influence of the 1970s.
At Sancal, we had the pleasure of collaborating once again with Teklan, this time in the space designed for the Italian brand Radici during the latest edition of L’Equip Hotel.
Teklan showcased their recent collaboration with the Italian firm, titled Newstalgia, a collection of carpets inspired by the graphic patterns and colour palette of the 60s and 70s. This series evokes a renewed nostalgia, which, far from feeling outdated, remains original and contemporary, conveying optimism and good vibes.
The Pion table, Totem stools, and Magnum chairs, the latter dressed in a very seventies corduroy fabric (sample 132), were the furniture selected by Teklan. These pieces integrated seamlessly into the space with their retro forms, characterized by soft curves and sculptural silhouettes, contributing with sophistication and boldness to the aesthetic and adding functional purposes for the stand.
True to their unique interpretation of colour and bold ability to blend it, Teklan revisited the aesthetic influence of this eclectic, bold, and somewhat flamboyant era. The result was an expressive, retro-inspired stand that harmoniously brought these elements to life.
The collaboration between Sancal and Teklan is not new; in 2022, the designer contributed to the design of An Apartment of One’s Own Escena for our stand at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, showcasing their ability to transform spaces and adapt their distinctive style to an interpretation of Mediterranean freshness in an intimate space meant to be lived in.
