Planta is a collection of upholstered seats born from the observation of nature. Inspired by tropical vegetation, particularly the iconic Monstera leaf, this family of chairs and armchairs translates the beauty of organic forms into a welcoming design.
With soft lines and generous seats, Planta merges comfort and aesthetics, integrating seamlessly into any space. Its versatility makes the chairs ideal for both office meeting rooms and cosy dining areas at home. The armchairs are equally suited for waiting areas, hotel rooms, offices, or as a perfect complement to a large sofa in a residential setting.
Designed by Yonoh, Planta reflects the studio’s elegant and precise approach, where warmth meets refined design. True to their signature style, the Valencian design duo has achieved a balance between natural inspiration and contemporary aesthetics. “Planta is a tribute to nature, with shapes that evoke the fluidity of the Monstera leaf.”
Planta encourages an active yet comfortable sitting posture, with its wide, slightly curved backrest embracing the body. The armrests, conceived as a natural extension of the design, enhance the sense of comfort and visual fluidity. This distinctive element (standard in armchairs and optional for chairs) features a metal frame that wraps around the backrest and extends to form the armrests, integrating a padded cushion for arm support. A functional detail that enhances the design. “We designed Planta to offer comfort and versatility without losing its organic essence.”
Versatility is another key feature of the collection. Thanks to its wide range of bases, each piece adapts to different environments and uses while maintaining its natural essence. The chair is available with four types of bases: wooden legs, metal legs, a swivel base with casters, and a fixed four-star base. The armchair, on the other hand, comes with three base options: wood, metal, and a fixed four-star base.
The solid ash wood legs can be stained in any colour from Sancal’s pallet, while the metal elements, including legs and armrests, can be lacquered in any extra-matte colour.
Additionally, both the chair and the armchair can be upholstered in any fabric or leather from Sancal’s collection, allowing for complete customization to suit various styles and settings.
