Ovolo has recently inaugurated an eye catching hotel in Sydney, and not just because of its name. Woolloomooloo is the name of one of the city’s heritage warehouses. Its new owners have been careful to preserve the past when converting it into a hotel, respecting its splendid wrought iron structure. The prestigious international studio Hassell used this industrial background to create a chic atmosphere. Here the new and the old rub shoulders, creating an eclectic space of contrasting colours and cosy corners that adapt to any need. The REW benches and Nido lounge chairs, designed by Rafa Garcia, are featured in the central hall stand out against the building’s grey construction.
