Next Stop comes to NY city

Interior Design magazine awards this design by Luca Nichetto for Sancal

The journey we started with Turati Collection, and the set of exclusive products developed by Luca Nichetto for Sancal, has taken us this time to NY city. On December 6th, Cindy Allen and Carol Cisco hosted the Best of Year 2019 Awards ceremony where Next Stop won the “contract sofa” category.

Next Stop singularity strikes the balance between design and function, since the simplicity of this modular programme fits perfectly into different projects and needs. Specially designed for contract spaces, its aesthetics add a touch of sophistication to lobbies, waiting rooms and breakout areas such with armchair, sofa or large benches compositions.

Research in new textile techniques for upholstery is one of the most remarkable aspects of Next Stop, as it incorporates a new knitting fabric, Zero, developed exclusively for this model by Marie-Louise Rosholm. As its name suggests, this new textile virtually eliminates seams and waste as it comes from the loom as a cover ready to insert the sofa’s pads.

We want to express satisfaction for receiving this award for Next Stop sofa, a design that honours the function of a humble bench at the metro station. And thank Luca Nichetto and his studio as well as Marie-Louise Rosholm from MLR for being our travel companions in this amazing journey.

Next Stop joins the Tea seating family, Tortuga armchair and Mullit chair to receive this international recognition.
