Casa Terrazza x Sancal

Casa Terrazza served as the backdrop for David Frutos’ latest shoot, featuring Canto, Vibe, Bold and Cita.

For Izaskun Chinchilla and her team, sustainability standards go beyond technical considerations; they must also have an aesthetic and visual expression.

This house is not only conceived as a retreat but also as a place where ecological and Mediterranean principles meet to create something truly contemporary. The design of Sancal’s furniture, like the philosophy behind this work, advocates for a laid-back lifestyle, while also being committed and responsible.

“In this architecture, the use of resources, integration with the environment, and climate optimisation became, aesthetically, a source of cultural identity” explain the team from the studio.

In this project, Sancal’s furniture has become a vital part of Chinchilla’s architectural narrative. She has managed to avoid the clichés of Mediterranean architecture, creating a space that embodies modernity and sustainability, warmth and authenticity, where natural materials such as wood, ceramics, and stone embrace our furniture, uniting design and functionality for a relaxed, family-friendly lifestyle.

Sancal’s furniture is dressed in a palette of greens and reds, creating a fresh and dynamic contrast against the natural materials employed by architect Izaskun Chinchilla in this project.

Pieces like Vibe soft seating, with its adaptability to various spaces, Bold tables, which adds a striking touch with its asymmetrical and oversized lines, and Cita bench and table, which combines visual lightness and functionality, converse with the different spaces, integrating comfort and design, together with other iconic designs like LoopPion or Roll.

We love to think that, just like Izaskun Chinchilla’s approach, our commitment to sustainability is reflected not only in the materials we use but also in how our designs embody those values. For us, creating furniture is not just about aesthetics; it’s about offering pieces that truly contribute to a more conscious and environmentally connected way of living.
