Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Material Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the sourcing of carefully considered materials that will inform the design process.
Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements with a specific emphasis on ethical, sustainability and healthy materials.
- Source novel materials, be they transfers from other industries, recouping traditional processes, existing materials that the firm is presently not using or solutions that have yet to have been brought to market.
- Establish relationships with existing suppliers and find new options to diversify our material sourcing network.
- Work closely with our design, production and purchasing teams to align material choices with the creative vision, manufacturing capabilities and procurement concerns to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials.
Qualifications
- A degree in a related field is not essential, but would be considered positively.
- Proven experience in material sourcing, preferably in the furniture or design industry.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel extensively to engage with suppliers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with hybrid work models and willingness to spend a minimum of two days a week at our HQ in Yecla, Murcia, Spain.
