Summer evokes moments from our childhood. Who doesn’t remember playing table tennis on a warm August afternoon? Cinta Arribas captures, with her recognisable Chinese ink strokes, a vibrant and dynamic scene where two players compete in this fun game.
In Arribas’s illustration, Vestige becomes an improvised table tennis table, the central piece of the scene. This design by Note Design Studio for Sancal is inspired by the passage of time and how it shapes matter, leaving an indelible mark on objects. Time also leaves trace in our memory.
Vestige’s sculptural base is a rectangular block from which a cylindrical section has been removed at the top. A tempered glass top delicately balances on the fine lines exposed by the intersection of these two geometric figures.
