Respect the past to build the future.

From the conceptual design of an ephemeral space like UnRoom to the material transformation of a permanent one like COLAB. 2024 has reaffirmed our commitment to design, culminating in the prestigious Spanish National Design Award.
With each project, we’ve learned that envisioning the future requires respecting and reinterpreting the past. And that beauty doesn’t always demand ornamentation but rather authenticity.

Our participation in Milan left no one indifferent, with a stand that defied the traditional bases expected in a visually and aesthetically product display. With UnRoom, we asked ourselves a crucial question: how can we create an impactful space using fewer resources? This reflection led us to a non-constructive approach, making the radical and intentional decision to minimize material use to its bare essentials. After all, it was an ephemeral space.

Challenging aesthetic conventions always opens debate and speculation about the decision behind such radical proposals. Our goal was simple: to ignite conversations about design’s role in society and the environmental impact of our decisions.

This reflection on the ethical values of a system that promotes the illusion of infinite resources became the starting point for a project we started in early 2024 and unveiled in September: COLAB. In collaboration with Lucas Muñoz Muñoz, our new showroom in Madrid brings this idea to life with a fundamental premise: “What cannot leave, stays.”

Located in the historic building at O’Donnell 34, COLAB not only respects and restores Antonio Lamela’s visionary and avant-garde architecture but reinterprets it with a sustainable and disruptive approach. Throughout the process, the fourth floor became an impromptu workshop, embodying a transversal way of understanding sustainability: transforming the materials already present into new, useful—and why not, aesthetic—elements, thus preventing them from becoming waste. With COLAB, we moved away from the traditional deconstruction/destruction approach to prioritize preservation and circularity at its finest.

2024 concludes with an award that recognizes decades of dedication and love for design, celebrating a holistic, people-centered vision. Receiving the 2024 National Design Award reaffirms our belief that design can make the world a happier place and contribute positively to society

Looking forward to 2025, we are excited to continue creating a more beautiful, sustainable, and human world together with all of you.
