A year of harvest and tradition with Silvia Tack

Silvia Tack illustrates Sancal’s 2025 calendar, paying tribute to our rural roots. Through the artistic lens of the Madrid-based illustrator, we celebrate the earth’s bounty.

We are thrilled to announce that Silvia Tack  is the artist bringing Sancal’s 2025 calendar to life! Her illustrations capture our rural origins and deep connection to our heritage, blending our furniture into scenes that honour the earth’s generosity.

Silvia Tack draws inspiration from the countryside and its harvests. Her illustrations present still-life compositions where fruits, flowers, and crops intertwine with Sancal’s iconic furniture, through her expressive visual style.

Our rural origins have taught us that “you reap what you sow.” Every design and piece we create reflects the effort and dedication of years past. With local production at the heart of our philosophy, we remain committed to the land and the roots that sustain us.

Using bold lines, vibrant colours, and rich textures, Silvia shapes figs, grapes, and lemons alongside emblematic Sancal pieces like the Link soft seating, Next Stop sofa, and DB armchair. Each piece becomes part of a generous harvest. Her naïve, simple, and authentic style—characterised by hand-drawn illustrations and the use of wax crayons—brings warmth and approachability to each image.

In the artist’s words, “This calendar celebrates the abundance of the earth, which only asks for our commitment to time. Flowers, fruits, and crops coexist with sturdy furniture in bold colours, textures, and organic forms, serving as substrate, tutor, companion, and almost midwife”.

Since 2013, Sancal has been publishing its calendars, celebrating illustration as a valuable art form by commissioning different contemporary artists each year. Every calendar reflects a new style and unique interpretation, accompanying us month by month with the richness of graphic art. This tradition not only supports and showcases artistic talent but also inspires everyone who shares our passion for design and illustration.
