Inspiring Conversations.

Can spatial and interior design create a socially stimulating atmosphere?

Now more than ever, sharing a table has become an act of connection between people. The design of spaces, intended to host these personal or professional gatherings, undoubtedly plays a significant role in this process of active reconnection. How? By arranging tables and benches to delineate an intimate space and by using warm and natural materials.

Convinced of this need, Kristoffer and Malin from Note, along with Sancal, have devised a system of benches and tables that goes beyond a simple furniture family. They understand their importance as part of a space for connecting, collaborating, and sharing. Hence the name: “Cita” (meaning “Appointment” in Spanish).

“The design process for this hospitality furniture collection was based on a simple architectural principle: a structure that incorporates a repetitive pattern for the entire modular system. This scheme, present in both tables and benches, underscores the structural coherence and visual continuity of the collection. Each piece integrates perfectly into any environment while maintaining its unique identity, offering architects a versatile tool to create adaptable spaces” explain Malin and Kristoffer.

Regarding their design, the benches and tables combine functionality with aesthetics to create cozy and versatile spaces. The emphasis on a repetitive pattern not only ensures visually cohesive aesthetics but also offers functionality adaptable to various environments and needs.

“From conception to execution, we’ve strived to create a design language that speaks of sophistication and versatility, offering architects a canvas for boundless creativity”.

Note’s meticulous work stands out for its attention to detail and the pursuit of visual harmony throughout the ensemble, emphasizing its adaptability in any environment without losing its unique identity. Every detail, including the curves of the benches and their arrangement alongside the table, demonstrate the versatility and functionality that the designers have diligently sought.

Cita benches feature slightly curved seats for enhanced comfort. They can be arranged face-to-face to create semi-enclosed spaces within more open environments or joined together in long compositions to form benches with multiple seats. This architectural concept enables adaptation to the specific needs of the space.

The Cita table, with its unique central pillar and solid ash wood structure, is available in a wide range of finishes.

With a focus on face-to-face interaction, Cita facilitates the creation of environments conducive to communication and dialogue. This program, still in development, will soon expand to include new pieces such as a chair, sofas, and armchairs.

You can now incorporate Cita into your projects. Download the technical files here.
