Vibe has been honoured with the prestigious Best of Year Award in the Contract Sofa category. This recognition, granted by Interior Design magazine, celebrates not only aesthetic and functional excellence but also the profound impact that design can have on our lives.
Designed by Toni Castaño from Estudio Sancal, Vibe carries a sense of familiarity with an emotional twist. Esther and Elena collaborated with their cousin Toni to recreate a new line of seating inspired by the brand’s first modular designs in the 1970s created by Santiago Castaño, Sancal’s founder. This generational connection seamlessly blends tradition and innovation combining creativity and design to meet today’s needs.
Designing for the contract market involves creating furniture that is not only functional and durable but also fosters connection in shared spaces. Vibe brings a warm, homely aesthetic to non-domestic environments, transforming any setting into a place where people feel comfortable, and welcome. It’s been designed with the aim of humanising communal and public spaces, making them inviting and pleasant.
Though comprising just four pieces, Vibe offers infinite customisation possibilities thanks to an extensive range of fabrics, allowing it to adapt to any setting, from offices and hotels to cultural or educational spaces. Its removable covers ensure easy maintenance, prolongs its lifespan, and allow for a refreshed look to suit evolving needs or even the changing seasons.
Cindy Allen hosted the ceremony on 12 December, in an event celebrating the finest in international design. Now in its 19th edition, the BoY Awards remain a global benchmark, spotlighting products that set the tone for the interior design industry.
